My knee is definitely better and I have shaved off about 1 minute per mile on my usual running schedule. I average about 30 miles/week. I still have to be careful in running down hill. My standing films show no joint space loss so I assume I have a degenerative anterior horn tear of the medial meniscus. At my advanced age, intervention is not an option unless I begin having an effusion or instability.

I'm sorry it took me so long to send this, but I was having some pain and soreness in muscles above and below my knee and I wanted to be sure I could get some relief for that before I sent a testimonial. The exercise bike has pretty well taken care of that pain now. I try to get on it for 10 or 15 minutes twice a day. I'm so thankful that you came over and diagnosed my knee problem and provided me with the insoles.

I had my medial meniscus removed at 18 as a result of a sports injury. I played basketball actively until age 30 and then had an arthroscopic abrasion arthroplasty to relieve pain in the same area as my previous surgery. After the procedure I was able to walk any distance until age 56 when my knee began to bother me again. I stopped walking and gained 20 pounds. I found myself making decisions to go places, based on a pain versus reward ratio of how far I had to walk.

After reading Dr. Johnson's website www.rxknee.com, I realized my legs had become slightly bow-legged. I began using the Foam Fulcrum Spacer 3 times a day for 5 minutes and the Dynamic Wedged Insoles. I didn't know what to expect in terms of how long it would take to notice any results. But I thought the science of this idea was solid and much less invasive then a total knee replacement. I was surprised to notice a difference within days. I'm walking again and now am up to 1 1/2 miles each day. With the added mobility I don't expect to have to have my knee replaced anytime in the near future, especially if I continue to lose weight from the exercise.
